What Your Facility Provides

Hummingbird House is an 81 place private day nursery which has been operating since September 2003.  The nursery facilities include five separate play rooms over two buildings, baby changing/bathrooms, parent’s reception area and two gardens.  To facilitate the needs of working parents we are open from 8am – 6pm Monday-Friday, 51 weeks of the year.

Hummingbird House Nursery is in partnership with Stirling Council and is therefore able to offer any child between 3-5 years free nursery rates for 2.5 hours per day or 12.5 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year.

Development & Learning Through Play

Our environment has been designed to facilitate children’s learning through play and our choice of resources reflects a variety of learning opportunities.  Staff are very aware of monitoring activities to create a balance of fun, relevance and pace of learning throughout each nursery session.

Garden

Description of your garden/ gardens. Whats on offer, resources and equipment, eco schools
We have a large garden separated into two areas for the younger and older children. We have an outdoor stage to encourage role play and confidence. The garden is under development and by the end of 2008 we should have a beautiful, exciting and safe outdoor area. Hummingbird House have almost everything in place to apply for the Eco Schools silver award. Our Eco Committee and Eco Warriors are working very hard to encourage biodiversity and the nursery as a whole is supporting them in developing our outdoor area.

Parking Facilities

We have safe and secure enclosed care park in nursery grounds with access to both entrances of the nursery. The car park holds 25 parking spaces to ensure safe and easy drop off and collection.
