What Your Facility Provides

At Happitots we offer a safe, friendly atmosphere where children can experience a variety of stimulating and exciting activities to suit their individual needs. The nursery is bright and busy and occupies a purpose built single story building set in a large enclosed, well-equipped outdoor play area. The nursery is registered for 103 and is in partnership with Renfrewshire Council. The warm and welcoming atmosphere ensures your children are settled and secure. The nursery compromises of 6 different playrooms for children aged 0-1 years, 1-2 years, 2-3 years, and 3-5 years, all fees include healthy snacks and lunches which have been accredited by NHS. Our facility provides a home from home environment.

The nursery provides full and part-time childcare for children aged 0 - 5 yrs. We encourage a wide range of early opportunities for babies to pre-schoolers to enhance growth, development and learning, this is all offered alongside affection, care and nurturing with our mature qualified and experienced staff. Staff hold relevant childcare qualifications as well as first aid, food hygiene, oral health and take part in regular CPD opportunities, many of our staff are parents themselves and hold a wealth of personal experience as well as professional experience.

0-3 Department

All planning is undertaken in line with the Government programme: “Birth to Three Matters”, which is a framework to support children’s learning and development in their earliest years. This document provides guidelines for childcare professionals to develop a 0 – 3 curriculum which will help the child gain the experiences and knowledge within a caring and stable environment. All our childcare practitioners are skilled in planning for individual children as well as their own key worker group, planning consists of weekly planning and each child has their own personal development folder where staff members are able to clearly identify children’s next steps and previous learning.

3-5 Department

Our 3 to 5 years olds will follow a curriculum based on planned and child-centred activities and experiences that will encourage and promote individual learning through play. Staff will closely follow the Scottish Executive ‘Curriculum Framework for Children 3 –5’ guidelines.

We encourage partnership with parents and learning at home through our home reading programme, adventure Ted, learning at home and at nursery sheets, where planned learning outcomes are shared with parents and ideas of how to support this at home.

Garden

The Nursery has large, secure, private gardens for each age group. We appreciate that most children love, and benefit from, being outdoors in the fresh air and we therefore use the garden at least once or twice a day, weather permitting. We use the garden as an extension of the playroom and we take the curriculum learning outside with lots of fun activities such as hunting for fairy numbers, looking at bugs with the magnifying glasses as well as encouraging the development of physical skills with our large climbing frame or small scale equipment.

Meals & Snacks

At Happitots mealtimes are a special time of the day and a pleasant social occasion. Staff take a full part in meal times and will chat and interact with the children as they feed them. Our menus have been accredited by NHS as they promote healthy eating and oral health. Each day has balanced snacks, lunches and drinks with plenty of fruit and vegetables.

Parking Facilities

The nursery is located away from the busy terminal building and is allocated with its own designated parking just outside the nursery, there is ample parking for staff and parents to ensure a quick drop off and pick up at peak times.
