Holyrood Prestwich Nursery is located in a residential area in Prestwich and was originally a large detached private house, then a local doctor’s surgery before finally becoming a nursery in 1994. Recent refurbishment has resulted in a stunning facility with light spacious rooms and a fabulous outdoor play area. The nursery is ideally situated for access to Bury, Central Manchester and the motorway network. There are spaces for parking to drop off and pick up and convenient links to public transport facilities.
Staff and children make excellent use of the many local amenities including the large park and the local library.
Children attending the nursery are cared for by a team of caring and committed childcare practitioners with a range of skills, qualifications and experience. Staff value each child as an individual and plan learning opportunities to enable them to grow and flourish. There is a genuine sense of partnership between the staff team and the children and families using the nursery.
A qualified teacher is employed five mornings a week to work with the pre-school children, following the Early Years Foundation Stage which was implemented in September 2008. Once a week a professional dance teacher from the Glenda Ann School of Dance comes into the nursery and teaches the children dance moves including funky dance, ballet and much more. These sessions are always greeted with great delight by the children.
Nursery Education Grant funding is available at Holyrood Nursery.
The opening hours are 7.30a.m. to 6p.m. Monday to Friday.
The nursery is open all year round with the exception of bank holidays when the service will close.
