Our Nurseries

Across each of our nurseries we aim to provide a stimulating atmosphere to encourage each child's individual development. We believe that each child learns through play, interaction, living, example and of course teaching. These principles shape our philosophy towards childcare and are brought to life in a fun, exciting, healthy and educational way across each of our settings by our team of childcare professionals.

All of our nurseries work very hard to meet the very highest levels of quality that are consistently higher than those expected of us by our regulatory authorities. Consequently we place a very strong emphasis on training ensuring that all staff are equipped with the proper blend of knowledge and skills to deliver childcare best practice in a fun and challenging way.

To underline our commitment towards quality and training we set up our own in house training agency - in 2004. Under the guidance of our training division staff are encouraged to work towards an SQA accredited qualification in childcare testing their knowledge in key ares of childcare practice and curriculum. Candidates are routinely monitored in the workplace to ensure not only a sound understanding of the role but an ability to put newly learned principles into practice within a nursery setting.

These qualifications ensure a detailed and rounded understanding of the role of the childcare professional in our nurseries and we acknowledge that to ensure an excellent standard of care and attention for all our children our most important asset is our staff.

We pride ourselves on keeping our staff long term and many staff are mature mothers or grandmothers themselves. All staff are either qualified nursery nurses, registered nurses, teachers or undertaking training which will lead to a recognised qualification.

All the staff undergo a thorough induction and have regular appraisals to ensure that all of our policies and the highest standards of care are maintained across the group. Staff are encouraged to attend regular courses to update their skills and knowledge and a first aid certificate is essential for all qualified staff.

The managers in each nursery are highly trained in childcare and will each have, or be attending further management courses. The managers and senior staff meet on a regular basis to exchange ideas and experience and we are continually striving to maintain and improve our service, which has earned us the reputation of delivering excellent childcare across Scotland.
